Poor continence care can affect an individual’s physical and emotional wellbeing and can contribute to anxiety, depression, loss of personal relationships, an increase in urinary infections; but one of the highest risk factors associated with incontinence is skin damage due to incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD).

IAD is a multifaceted condition and should be treated as such; our Clinical Nurse Consultants conduct a full risk assessment for susceptible individuals to identify the intrinsic or extrinsic factors.   This includes appropriate continence- management systems, a structured skin- care regimen and treatment care plan that incorporates a strategy for prevention and management of IAD and the use of barrier creams/skin protectants.

We have the nursing expertise to manage IAD and stage I and II pressure injuries using the latest evidence based interventions and products on the market; our Clinical Nurse Consultants are actively engaged in ongoing professional development, evidence based, best practice care.
